Breakfast Jars with Metis Fruits

I’m having a very exciting recipe for you today, using Metis Fruits! It was the first time I’ve heard of this fruit and I’m so glad I did because its super delicious. Metis is a natural mix between a plum and an apricot and has a unique flavor. There are four flavors of Metis and I’ve used Oxy Solar and Dark Moon for these breakfast jars.

Oxy Solar – has a very intense color and is full of vitamins and antioxidants

Dark Moon – has a light color inside but a dark outside, it’s very juicy and flavourfull

Safari Star – such a beautiful color, it’s a bit acid but still sweet enough to have it as an afternoon snack

Sunset Sky – this one is available up until November and tastes as good as it looks like

Metis Fruits

The fruits are cultivated in France, Spain and Italy and are available all over Europe. What are your favorite plum recipes? Let me know in the comments, I would love to try them with Metis fruit and give them a twist! But first I’m going to share the recipe for these breakfast jars with you.

For two jars

  • 80g crunchy granola
  • 100g coconut yoghurt
  • 6 Metis fruit
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • Pinch of cinnamon

Start with cooking a Metis compote. Slice four Metis fruit and cook with some water, the maple syrup and cinnamon over medium heat in a saucepan. After 15min you should have a compote-like texture. Fill the granola in two jars, top with coconut yoghurt, add the compote and finish off with two sliced fresh Metis fruit. The perfect autumn recipe!

For more recipes and more information check the Metis website. For all German readers: Metis is available at Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland, Lidl, Aldi, HIT, Kaufhof, Real and Famila, basically everywhere. Pick them up the next time you go fruit shopping!
